Well, i can definately understand your point of view; its not unfair to expect the gameplay to be the most prominant aspect of a game. I think you've just got to approach games like this and Xenosaga with the right attitude, and treat them more like interactive anime's than games.

Speaking of which, we'll all be playing Xenosaga episode II by february, meaning i'd better complete the original game sharpish.

^_^ Hehe, yeah. Its especially an exciting time for me since i'll be playing Episodes I and II consecutively. Not to mention next year we're also getting Final Fantasy XII, Kingdom Hearts II, Tales of Rebirth, Dragon Warrior VIII, and maybe even Radiata Stories (just to name a few).

Agreed. And so far, with Star Ocean, Square Enix have kept their promise about putting more effort into their european release; not only did they cut the localisation time from the US down to just a month, but in that time they produced us a bonus DVD full of interviews with the makers of the game, trailers of upcoming Square Enix titles, all the original artwork, and music extracts. This brings the package up to a grand total of 3 DVD's, yet, its being retailed for 15% lower than the standard game price (at least here in the UK). A nice compensation for the wait we had that im hoping to see with all their future titles.
